Stick to the basics.
The world is full of new technology, but sometimes we need to get back to the basics to get the most out of life.
As the Christmas season is upon us, my hope is to focus on the reason we celebrate. Jesus, God's perfect gift to man, who was born so we can live. It's so easy to forget that Christ's birth is the cornerstone of the holiday when consumerism is all around us. But, what a special gift to give ourselves, when we take our eyes off the chaos and busyness of the season and experience real joy by spending more time in God's presence.
I really like seeing a picture to go with my friend. I like the set-up and that it's short. My first blogs went on forever.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture.
ReplyDeleteMary, I like your format, too. I just read the other day that shorter blogs get read more (plus they take less tie to write!) so I think you're on the right track.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about your comment about keeping things simple for Christmas-even though it is really hard to do. My favorite part of Christmas this year was spending time with my kids, friends and family. I listened to a song by New Song over and over this year and it brought joy and peace to me during the hectic holiday season. Some lines from the song "The Cristmas Hope." "Hope is a candle, a light in the window, showing the way for a heart to come home.... Hope is a savior who was born in a manger, sent dwon from heaven to rescue our hearts. Chritmas hope and charity is what Christmas is all about.
